Sawyer Academy Virtual School Application

Application Materials, 2013-2014

Under the sponsorship of Skyline Public Schools, Sawyer Virtual Academy (SVA) offers a unique learning environment for students who are eager to learn and willing to develop into self-starters.  The Kansas State Accredited Virtual School program allows students to work from home or other locations and complete their academic requirements.  If needed, Sawyer Virtual Academy will provide a laptop computer.

Curriculum Options:

Edgenuityis an almost completely Internet based challenging curriculum for grades six-twelve.  Students can access the program anytime and anywhere they have access to the Internet.  This provides a great deal of flexibility in learning schedules.

Edgenuity offers a challenging program for students in sixth-twelfth grade.  It involves lessons that are online and offline.  Materials are web based and can be accessed online using the Internet.

Foreign Language, Music, and Extra and Co-Curricular activities are available through the traditional school setting at Skyline Public Schools.  Sawyer Virtual Academy students must be enrolled in a minimum of five classes to be eligible for Extra and Co-Curricular activities.

Family Involvement:

Sawyer Virtual Academy believes that a collaborative relationship between the family and school is essential for student success.  Family participation, as a fundamental support system, is essential for student success.  Communication between school and family is a top priority in the complete development of an educated global citizen.

Sawyer Virtual Academy is located at 20269 West Highway 54, Pratt, Kansas 67124.

Application Process:

Our application process offers us an opportunity to enroll students who fit the profile of our progam.  We are looking for students who are self-motivated and self-disciplined.
